In 1992, the CARTA Downtown Electric Shuttle made exploring Chattanooga accessible and environmentally sustainable. It was (and still is) big news, as well as a testament to our community’s progressive approach to public travel. Today, the Bike Chattanooga Bicycle Transit System takes our transportation network even further by linking residents and visitors to something more exciting than any train, car or bus possibly can – each other.
With 338 bikes and 37 docking stations, you can conveniently ride around and about downtown Chattanooga, from the North Shore to the Southside, up the Tennessee Riverwalk to Hubert Frye Center, and the University in the east to the Convention Center in the west. Visit some of the best of Chattanooga attractions like the Chattanooga Choo-Choo Hotel, the Convention Center, the Tennessee Aquarium and the Hunter Museum of American Art by bike. (Give or take a MoonPie.)
Pedal your way through one of the most transformed cities in America. Enjoy the unique blend of urban spaces and natural wonders that make Chattanooga a vibrant place to live, work and play.
Bike Chattanooga Bicycle Transit System is a project of the City of Chattanooga and is managed by the Transportation Department.
